KAHLA/ Thüringen Porzellan GmbH is a manufacturer of fine hard-paste porcelain based in Kahla in Thuringia. Since 1844, the company has been producing items for everyday use, in always new, contemporary designs. The family-owned enterprise has become the largest producer of porcelain in Thuringia. In over 60 countries, the award-winning KAHLA products are valued inside the home, in the hotel industry and restaurant sector as is the customised promotional porcelain for corporate clients. KAHLA products received more than 90 international design awards.
With the formation of KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH in 1994 by Günther Raithel, the company has evolved into a pioneer in table culture. Today, KAHLA is one of Europe's most modern porcelain manufacturers creating products that reflect current lifestyle and eating habits.
With its "Porcelain for the Senses", the Raithel family vouches for the highest quality "Made in Germany".
Since 2009, KAHLA has been pursuing the Pro-Eco sustainability strategy: Apart from producing in a manner that protects resources and from using the latest technology to reduce the environmental impact, such as a photovoltaic system, an innovative firing technology and its own well, the timeless and classic design of the products contributes to a high sustainability of the KAHLA brand.
"Made in Germany" is the company's commitment to its location, Kahla. KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH employs 300 dedicated employees and more than 20 apprentices. Every year in a guided tour of the modern porcelain production facilities, numerous visitors get to experience up close the production of the Porcelain for the Senses – an exciting combination of craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology.
